Flublok® is a vaccine indicated for immunization for the prevention of disease caused by influenza A and B strains represented by antigens contained in the vaccine. Flublok® is given to people 18 years of age and older.

The first and only recombinant vaccine proven to prevent flu and demonstrated to reduce its complications in older adults
  • Clinically proven to provide 30% more protection compared to a regular flu shot in adults 50+
  • In a clinical study during the 2014-2015 flu season of approximately 9,000 people, FLUBLOK® (quadrivalent) (Influenza Vaccine) was proven to be 30% more effective at preventing flu in people 50+ vs FLUARIX® QUADRIVALENT (a standard-dose vaccine)*

The efficacy of the trivalent and quadrivalent formulations are related because both are made using the same process and have overlapping compositions.

  • The only vaccine that uses the flu virus’s genetic makeup to provide an exact match to WHO- and FDA-selected strains
  • With 3x more antigen than a regular flu shot
  • In adults 50 years of age and older, the most common side effects were tenderness, and/or pain where you got the shot, headache, and tiredness

Get the upper hand on the flu with a higher-dose vaccine vs standard-dose:

The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices selected FLUBLOK® as one of the preferred flu vaccine options for people 65+ over regular flu shots.

Flu infection can pose serious risks at all ages.

Anyone can get the flu (including healthy people), and serious problems related to the flu can happen at any age. However, some people are at a higher risk of developing serious flu-related complications if they get sick. Additionally, you can run the risk of passing the flu virus on to vulnerable people around you. Those adults with a higher risk include those with heart disease, diabetes, chronic lung disease (asthma, COPD), and other chronic conditions.

Sanofi makes the only flu vaccine made with recombinant technology, using the genetic makeup of the flu virus to ensure an exact match to WHO- and FDA-selected strains.
